Common x Nell’s are hosting the exhibition launch of ‘Messages of Welcome’ in collaboration with Conversations Over Borders. Join us for an evening to raise awareness and money for a great cause with DJ sets and a COB pop-up shop.
About Conversations Over Borders
Conversation Over Borders builds connections between communities by connecting refugees and people seeking asylum with the wider public across the UK. They facilitate 1-1 and group English classes, refugee-led mental wellbeing support and a digital access and inclusion programme, offering digital skills training as well as getting refurbished phones and laptops out to people who need them. They platform the voices of people in the asylum system, to campaign for a fairer UK where everybody has what they need to thrive!
About the exhibition ‘Messages of Welcome’
When far right violence spread across the UK in August 2024 and hotels housing asylum seekers were targeted with attacks and arson, Conversation Over Borders put out a simple request: that members of the public send a message of welcome to be shared with people affected by the attacks. Over 3,000 people responded within two weeks.
The Messages of Welcome exhibition displays those messages and the simple acts of kindness and solidarity that can make a huge difference in someone’s first experience of the UK, creating a feeling of community and togetherness.

Free to attend, as always.
The exhibition will be on all week, closing on Sunday 22nd June.
